Triple Play

Ugh...it's been a long time since I wrote anything. Well, it's been hard times all around and around here hasn't been any exception. However, as of late there have been some definite bright spots in my life. Three very amazing things have happened in the past month.

1. I got married! Nothing big or huge. We went down to the courthouse one Friday morning with the pumpkin and our parents in tow. Still, it was absolutely amazing to stare into his eyes and listen to him promise to be my husband. Also the magistrate who married was very nice and had my daughter sign the marriage certificate as well to make it "official".

We'd still like to have some sort of big to-do with a ring exchange and all. However, it was important we get married quickly to get me on his insurance because....

2. I'm pregnant. All I can say is that this was quite surprise considering how careful we've been, but its a welcome surprise. The pumpkin is thrilled. Her only request is that that baby isn't allowed in her room and can't touch her stuff. My husband (so excited I can use that term) is thrilled as well and likes to rub my not yet baby bump and say "baby".

3. We're buying a house. Right now 1 & 2 kinda suck because I'm still living at the cottage and he's still living with his parents. There isn't enough room for him to move in let alone for us to have a baby here. But we were saving up for a house anyway and the recent downturn in the housing market has really come out in our favor. We're still looking right now, but I have the feeling we'll find something before summer.

Cleaning...

I know its a total 50's housewife cliche, but by the Goddess, there is nothing like the feeling of a having a clean house. I spent all of yesterday and most of today cleaning the one last bastion of mess in the house--my daughter's room. She helped (and surprisingly of her own free will too). She's happy because she tons of room to play in and I'm happy because its clean.

Admittedly, we have to see how long it stays this way, but I think she finally gets why its important to keep things clean.
